why are all of the GITS releases cropped from 720p to 688?Does anyone know why?

If people could remove their limiters and seed so I can DL this movie at a regular speed, I promise I will do the same. 11 people seeding right now and I'm not even getting over a 100 kb/s... I do have patience, so that is not the question here.

why are all of the GITS releases cropped from 720p to 688?Does anyone know why?
my guess is that it is actually the proper aspect ratio. there may have been black bars removed to save space.

exactly. 720 is with the black bars, 688 is without. So 16 removed from the top and 16 removed from the bottom

I don't suppose I could get a few more seeders or someone to open up full throttle? 16 seed, 50 kBps, and a need to get this finished in a few hours. As it is, I'm on track to finish in 12 hours, but if that number could be cut down, that would be awesome ^_^

This is beyond boring. The plot is terrible.
The dialogue is nonstop philosophical nonsense.
Music is forgettable.
Less of a movie and more of a "Hey look what we can do with CGI" fest.
Some CGI scenes are so random, their relevance is questionable.
The saddest thing is they had a 20 M$ budget for this.
I suggest you use that 1:40 hour for something else.
The dialogue is nonstop philosophical nonsense.
Music is forgettable.

^ All I can say is maybe you should have looked into what the movie is about first before watching it. There are those of us who like that "nonstop philosophical nonsense".
