The EuReKa version was encoded so good that my computer has a tough time playing it even if I made the tweaks in VLC to play such high quality format. It plays fine for the first few minutes that when it gets to the middle its trying to keep up. But any of you guys having trouble playing this in VLC player, try this:
(This is from VLC Player site, from their help forum.)
H.264 codecs are pretty CPU intensive and VLC can't use multi-cores to decode it yet.
So if your computer is dying when decoding 1080p samples from H264, do the following.
* Open the preferences
* Tick advanced in the lower right corner
* Go to "Input/Codec"
* Go to "other codecs" subcategory
* Go to "FFmpeg"
* Put the "skip-filter for H264" to all
* Restart VLC
This tweak of the settings worked when I had to play Theora's Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete, but sadly it works for a while on this Batman Movie but my computer seriously lags and can't keep up. EuReKa has really good encoding.

This is an American concept being remade by Japanese studios in a Japanese way, for both a western and eastern audience. You're making my head hurt.
This is no more intended for an Eastern audience than any title than has an international release, which oh so many titles have these days. There are American cartoons running in Japan, that doesn't mean they are 'intended for an Eastern audience'.
This is a title that was outsourced to studios that have a reputation of bringing about good animation. They were told what to do, and did it.
As for DB:E, I see no reason for not having it on BakaBT when http://www.bakabt.com/129061-dragonball-the-magic-begins-dvd-rip.html is up here. IMBd has no information indicating that it was ever released in Japan.
Interestingly, http://www.bakabt.com/131512-oseam.html is also on BakaBT for some reason, even though it was never released in Japan either. Apparently, there doesn't have to be even the slightest connection to Japan for titles to be accepted here. Arbitrary line drawing much?

I just did this, but also activated Hardware-decoding which I think uses your GPU to do most of the decoding. It works smoothly for me, and I'm not even getting any artifacts! You might need a powerful GPU for this, (I'm running on an HD5750) but if you got one it looks like you're set.
Edit: disregard that, after a bunch of minutes it started to hang again. Ugh.

was this originally dubbed in Japanese or Enlish? Im just curious what the original language verion was. I know the animation was done by Japanese studios, but did they match it to an english dub or did they do a full Japanese dub then the english company did their dub later?
Like i said im just curious what the original language dub was
Im also curious if this version uses the lame subs the COR versino has. I tried the subs on that and its a hearing impared version or something. It subs stuff like [screams] which is quite annoying. Does this version have the same subs?

Both seem to be pretty high quallity so go with whichever you prefer. I spent the first couple of "episodes" switching between the two and settled on the English dub due to Kevin Conroy (from the Animated Series) voicing Batman.

Using VLC is like having a Symphony Orchestra playing Beethoven's 5th but you pay a retard to conduct - sure the music might come out soso, but its gonna be a struggle.
seriously just Use CCCP and MPC-HC and if you can find one, a pirate copy of CoreAVC to run your media (I consider paying for software a crime against the internet)

2nd that. Nice simile xD "Beethoven's 5th"
Well for me I use Windows Media Player 12(yes the one which comes with Windows 7) with Win7codecs(shark 007)
Runs smoothly, I always find VLC a disappointment
if try to play some HD material in it for a change(Media Classic Player[KLMC] sucks too
).
GOM is one of the other best and free video players I came across.
oh and THanks for the Upload.

Was highly entertaining.

The subs of the 1080p release have minor mistakes here and there (e.g. Cris instead of Chris), since they're dubsubs it doesn't matter much anyway. But being picky I had to mention it.
Quality is very good, at least compared to the source.
Downloaded the 720p one as well but only to demux the german subs (will mux them in the 1080p release).
