Himura's story was the ultimate bittersweet tragedy. I won't ruin the anime by going into the details but I cried, I mean seriously cried my eyes out for Yuko. Unlike memories that ended happily, melodies leaves it up to you whether or not it was a happy ending. Truth is, I'm still conflicted.

Btw my thanks to the uploader, this was extremely high quality, really made the SHAFT art style shine. I was a little thrown off by the German in the backgrounds of scene transitions and the openings, but after Germany was referenced I understood why it was there.

 Best anime series ever

Clannad comparison omitted, who would have thought it would have been such a deal. I removed it so you all won't lose sleep at night.

I still stick with my opinion of Clannad being "better" and I'll gladly be "mistaken".

^ thanks for your post, just realized that I had left the ending of Clannad without spoiler tabs. I love Clannad but thanks to the ending it dropped a few places in my book. I wasn't trying to troll, but after reading what I said a month ago, it does seem like I'm looking for a fight.. Which is not the case. Just saying that I liked ef better than Clannad.

You're mistaken by the second you started comparing ef series with clannad, they're two distinct animes, and comparing them doesn't even make sense to start with.

It's like comparing two works of art, comparing da vinci with picasso, It doesn't make sense to begin with.

Of course you can (not only you can, you did), but let the time pass and maybe you'll understand what I said.

^ If you read my second comment, you'd know I wasn't looking for a dispute just stating an opinion. I wasn't the first to compare them and I most likely will not be the last to. Now if I was comparing Clannad to Seitokai no Ichizon like a bunch of people were doing a few weeks ago then you could ride me out all you want. Melodies and Clannad share similar qualities and are trying to produce the same result. I think sense could easily be made out of the comparison.

"Let time pass and maybe you'll understand what I said."

All the people that think Clannad is better than ef a tale of memories and melodies are mistaken.

That made you seem arrogant and made you seem like you were picking a fight.

^Well it's been a while since I posted that. I edited it out. I'm done. Removing this from my notify list. This is just plain silly to continue.

Sure, there's nothing to continue anyway. You were missing what you said wrong and now you get it, jurb dun.
