I'm not sure why but the ED (just the ED not the preview after it or anything before it) on all the episodes drops frames like crazy. You can't visibly see it dropping frames but if you control-J in MPC you can see it, this is with or without DXVA on a core 2 quad @3ghz and a gtx 460, using madVR. It causes a lot of problems if you run it through a transcoder (to ps3, phone, or STB for example.) It can also cause problems playing it on slower devices, computers, or players. It almost seems like the source frame rate for the ED was different from the rest of the video.

Edit: doesn't drop frames in the NCED, just the episodes' ED

Most likely has to do with softsub fun for the karaoke styling for the associated ED sequences.
Personally don't have desync issues because of it, but it's understandable that many would.

I don't have any desync issues either, I checked the .ass in Aegisub and there are no karaoke effects as far as I can tell, it's just static text so that can't be the issue either. Not to mention my CPU is nowhere near maxing out during these scenes, being the video is only 1280x720.

Not really trying to debate anything. For me personally, there are no frames lost during the soft subbed EDs. However, there was and always has been an irregularity in the "preview" segments following the ED, which varies per episode - nothing important.

Odd, wonder what's causing it for me then. I'm losing roughly 30 per second I'd say with no noticeable degradation in picture quality.

Edit: Doesn't happen on my much slower PC, now I'm just confused.
Edit 2: nevermind it does just not as significantly, 7 per second versus like 30 on my main PC.
Edit 3: Well, using a few video authoring tools I've figured it out, the ED is 59.94 fps and the rest of the episode is 24.976 fps. it will not drop frames if your display is running at 60hz but will if it's running at 24hz for obvious reasons. I tested it with an alternate raw and the results were the same so I'm guessing it's just how the source is. I guess I just won't worry about making this portable, it would take quite a while to split, resample, and remux all that.

I'm probably gonna love this anime, but I'm looking at those characters and comparing them to their respective real-life versions... My bottom jaw just crashed through the ground. Hahaha! I mean, the character designs are so wrong! Oh wells. It looks really good =D But still... Zhang Fei is THAT chick!?

As with all seasons and the corresponding specials and extras, the flash and other miscellaneous bits were never made available with english translations (atleast not from any source I'm aware of). As for the OVA, if it's not available in the batch, then it's available separately and easily found under the "related" link in the description portion of the torrent. In this case, the OVA for season 1 was made available via a DVD encode long before bluray encodes of the base series.

As mentioned in the initial reply, the OVAs are always subbed (given, somewhat "late" from time to time). It's the random extras that tend not to get much attention.

Playing the VN now after stalling on it for about a year. In some ways it's a shame this isn't the story of the game, but at the same time it's nice that it's doing its own thing and isn't just an exact repeat of the story you'll already know if you played the game.
