Thought I'd give this a go... seen the first two episodes, and it's not bad. But I'm finding I'm not really happy with either set of subs. The SS subs have more accurate name spellings (e.g. Ryou rather than Ryo) but both translate school years into an American format, using 'Grade' instead of 'Year'.

I'm very curious about the idea of arranged or forced marriages. It's an odd cultural attribute. However, I live in a society that does not have these types of scenarios, so I can only witness them on a fiction basis.
It's sort of like watching Bear Grylls do all his craziness. What he does is dumb, but people are intrigued because they themselves can't experience it.

Drove me crazy how everyone around Ryo made it seem like he was at fault when he was clearly the victim and Shizuka was basically an extreme sort of stalker. I assumed it was just the anime having a go at a comedy style, but then I wondered if maybe there was a bit of truth to it in Japanese culture. Their sense of right and wrong is so different from mine sometimes.

or maybe it's the settings on KMplayer,
but when I watch this, the video seems like someone fat is sitting on top with
a metal plate, so it's all ... movie theater-esque..
Is this just the way the file is, or is there something
I can do to make it less widescreen?

That happened to me also, but with MPC there was no problem. Also I've had this face for the entire duration of the first two episodes...
