Unlike both Grappler Baki series this title was (as far is known to me) never licensed to FUNimation, it seems it wasn't picked up after Central Park Media collapsed.

The series may even be allowed on BakaBT in the near future. That is, I'm told the DVD's have gone out of print.
But that's another discussion.

Here's a forum thread about Grappler Baki in general. Encoders, do have a look... ;-)

Now, why this "no group" release? Simply put, I was never able to get my hands on the AnimeCorp release.

(then again, I seldom watch English dubs, so maybe this is quite good for its time)

Is the AnimeCorp release available for comparison?

It hasn't been dumped on AniDB yet, so I don't know about its specs. Judging by its file size, it was encoded to fill a 700MB CD. So the additional size might or might not be justified.

EDIT: Oh, overlooked that line. Maybe someone else has that file…

I own this DVD!!! Bought it when I was about 12 or 13, back 2006 or 2007, and enjoyed it thoroughly. From what I can recall, it was a cheesy, silly way to spend 45 minutes. Nothing but action and fighting; great late-night viewing to be sure.

Thanks for finding and upping this macros74! You can always be counted on in these kinds of situations. I watched this the other day and enjoyed it. Fans of the TV series should definitely watch this.

Sweet! The only other one I found was French dub with no english subtitles. Now I don't have to make up the dialogue in my head.
